Celebs That Love Shuffleboard: Harry James

Henry “Harry” James was an American bandleader and one heck of an amazing trumpeter. He was an influential instrumentalist during the 1940s swing era and a popular musical celebrity in his prime. He was also the proud owner of his very own shuffleboard, located in his Hollywood mansion games lounge.

World War 2 somewhat launched the “Swinging Forties” and for some reason this was when table shuffleboard made its major mark in Hollywood, California. The appeal of the game went mainstream and the local celebrities were its best marketing tools. You could find shuffleboard tables in motion picture studios all over town, but it was the tables in celebrities homes that got most of the exposure. James was part of the home bar game revolution…
